Experiments 1 & 2 / Allison Holt

Commissioned by ZERO1 with support from the James Irvine Foundation

Experiment 1a and Experiment 2: These live-mixed analog video experiments were made at the Experimental Television Center (ETC) in upstate New York, with footage from a modified surveillance camera. Shot in Indonesia; Boston; Manhattan; and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, CA, it was processed using multiple feedback loops, voltage controls, a waveform monitor, and The Wobbulator, a custom device built for the ETC by Nam June Paik and Shuya Abe. These pieces were made immediately after I began ongoing field research in Indonesia, focusing on traditional methods of navigation between the natural and supernatural worlds.

Experiments 1 & 2 will be shown on the ZERO1 Urban Screen.
